IUG’s physical power sport team won top places at the championship organized by Arab Athletics Federation in Libya. The IUG champions were selected by the Palestinian Physical Power Lifting Federation to participate in the championship in Benghazi, Libya.
A large number of professional athletes from Arab world and North Africa competed in the championship. The golden medal of 140kg Bench Press went to IUG player Abdelgabbar Skaik who won the 1st place in that sport. The same player was ranked 3rd and earned the bronze medal in Squat Lifting of 200kg, weight class 83 kg (males).
Also the champion Mohammed Abu Fanouna was ranked 2nd place in both Chest Press (142kg), and Deadlift (240kg) sports. His total points qualified him to earn the bronze medal (3rd place) of the championship in weight class 74 kg (males).
Amidst the strong competition in the championship, IUG athletes proudly lifted the flag of Palestine after winning top places in Mohammed Makhlouf’s International Championship.
