Multimedia and Web Development Department, Faculty of Information Technology at IUG, organized a study day titled ” Animation Production and Management”.
Dr. Ashraf Almoghari, Dean of IT Faculty, addressed the importance of holding study and scientific days which contribute to supporting knowledge and profession accumulation of students. Adding that, the study day aims at exploring some successful examples of graduation projects to benefit from, and discusses three scientific sessions, each takes different subjects such as: animation production, budget estimation of web development products, and incubating multimedia and web development projects.
Dr. Mohammed Hassan, a faculty member, clarified that animation is a quick presentation of sequential pictures of 2D and 3D characters. It was emerged before 19th century, where camera had not been invented yet, and was created using projectors. After that, a simple machine was invented, with which the first animated film by Charles-Emile Reynaud was produced.
Dr. Hassan demonstrated that the animation production can be attained by a number of phases starting with pre-production phase in which the production goals, target group, headlines, and the patterns of animation are specified. Followed by the production phase that includes scenario, audio, edit, and dialogue. The last is the after-production phase, which is considered a feedback of the film produced, and a measurement of popularity among the target audience.

Scientific papers:
The study day discussed several scientific papers which are: “phases of 3D animation production”, “Timetabling of web development products “, and “budget estimation of web development products “. Additionally, two projects were approved for incubation, and they are ” a website for educational animated stories” and ” a web application for small businesses management”
