AQAC Accredits New Program in Digital Media

The Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission (AQAC) at the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education has announced that the Digital Media Major has been accredited to be inaugurated in the faculty of Arts early coming semester 2020-2021.

The major serves many objectives. Some of which focuses on improving the digital media skills such as analytical and investigative writing for digital platforms. The major, in addition, attaches significant importance to making digital productions like photography, video, editing, and graphic design for media purposes. Moreover, this major opens a wide window for acquiring technical and media skills in the field of digital radio and television broadcasting. Not only that, the skills of marketing, advertisement, and leading digital campaigns are also among the learner of this major.

Prof. Raed Salha, Dean of Faculty of Arts, said that all of these courses will be guided through a theoretical and practical plan, and implemented in well-equipped scientific laboratories. The knowledgeable framework of students will be enriched with code of ethics and laws that determine their digital media work.

As for students’ qualifications, Prof. Salha pointed out that the program prepares students with topnotch skills in the fields of electronic editing, graphic design, multimedia, electronic marketing, digital media management, and digital media campaigns. The department, as he mentioned, provides the labor market with graduates of technical competence and skills to work professionally in the media institutions, media agencies, and all branches of companies.

It’s worth noting that this major is going to be opened in the coming semester as part of the faculty of Arts’ sustainable plan to develop students’ skills.
