Inauguration of Energy-Efficient Building Diploma

Faculty of Engineering has inaugurated a professional Diploma in Energy-Efficient Building.

According to Prof. Ahmed Muhaisen, this diploma is the first of its kind in Palestine in the field of designing buildings. The diploma is crucial, for it transfers the students from theoretical to practical knowledge.

 The diploma of Energy-Efficient Building aims to provide the community with scientific competencies: graduates, engineers and supervisors who are specialized in designing buildings. In addition, it promotes creativity, innovation and integration between different engineering disciplines, which paves the way for producing sustainable and environmentally friendly buildings.

Furthermore, through this diploma, students will be kept pace with global trends in the construction industry, environmental conservation. Beyond that, it will aid find new jobs in the sustainable building industry as a suggested solution for alleviating the unemployment crisis in the Gaza Strip.

The first lecture at the diploma, Prof. Sana Saleh discussed the basics of energy-efficient building design, environmental conditions, and fundamental standards of designing buildings; in addition, discussing the ways to provide natural ventilation in buildings.

One of the trainees said that he is over pleased to join this programme. As an electrical engineer, he would intensively eager to know how to design buildings based on the standards of energy efficient.

Another appreciated Appear Programme and Islamic University for launching this diploma, for it will enhance and evaluate the knowledge of designing buildings and the way of minimizing the consumption of energy in the Gaza Strip.
