IUG Deanship of Nursing Faculty has received a delegation from Japan headed by Yoshio Nekozuka, Orthopedic Surgeon from Hokkaido Hospital, to research mutual cooperation and view the sections of the faculty.
Dr. Nekozuka said at the Deanship Office that: ” We come here to see the nature of teaching process at the IUG faculty of nursing, and to prepare for a series of lectures to be given to students.”
The delegation showed their readiness to revisit the faculty next year, and back with load of knowledge and screw who will transmit the Japanese nursing knowledge to IUG students.
Prof. Nekozuka clarified the system of education that is adopted in Japan. Nurse Tomomi from the Hokkaido Hospital added that students received their education in three years and then there is another year for practical training.
From the side of IUG Nursing, Prof. Ashraf Al-Jidi declared that IUG Nursing Faculty provides Bachelor degree in addition to Master programs which include: Higher Diploma Program for Clinical Supervision, Community Mental Health Master Program, Health Administration program. Furthermore, the faculty has conducted a number of researches on community health and crisis management. More importantly, it attaches keenness to the practical side alongside the theoretical one.
The delegation got the chance to visit the IUG museum, where they got to know about the IUG history, partnerships, centers and units.
