IUG Delegation Pays a Special Visit to University of South-Eastern Norway

Prof. Nazmi Al-Masri posted on his Facebook Account that the visit to the University of South-Eastern Norway is part of one of the four joint educational projects he led with universities in Norway, Finland, Germany and Britain. It is also the result of a previous visit to Norway in 2012 that planted the seeds of cooperation and partnership to become a tree with fruits with the seeds of improving early childhood education in Palestine.

A delegation from the Islamic University has visited, during 8-13 Sep. 2019, the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) in the framework of a project that supports the “Early Childhood Education Development in Palestine””, which carried out in partnership with both Hebron and USN universities. The delegation included the Coordinator of the project of the Early Childhood Education Development in Palestine Prof. Nazmi ALmasri and the Dean of the faculty of education Prof. Ibrahim Alastal Prof. Snaa Abu Daqqa, Prof. Somia Saima, And Ms. Azza AlSahhar.  

Prof. Almasri delivered a presentation about the reality of the Palestinian higher education, and the challenges that face it; Prof. Abu Daqqa reviewed the reality of Palestinian women, and the hindrances stand in front of their achievements.  

Adding to the list, Prof. Alastal and his teammates discussed with the Norwegian team several issues related to the development of the academic programme in the faculty of education, primarily, working on a program to train teachers in the early childhood field (kindergarten and basic education).

During the visit, they discussed the topics of early childhood master programme, in which the IUG intends to inaugurate in partnership with both Hebron and USN universities. This programme is considered the first of its kind in Palestine in this field. They, also, discussed the USN master scholarships for students, which will be in the following: early childhood field, human rights field, multiculturalism, and this will be made public very soon.

In addition, they handeled the research topics that will be implemented by scientific research groups and formed by the partner universities; they, also, put on the table the topic of teaching staff’s capacity development in the field of early childhood in Palestinian higher education institutions.
