Annual Ceremony of S.N Nahar and A.R Rahman Award At IUG

 Sultana N. Nahar and AlBuruj R. Rahman Prize has been recently Awarded to IUG STEM Best Students.

The IUG Deanship of Scientific Research and Higher Studies has awarded best students in Chemistry and Engineering the Sultan N. Nahar and AlBuruj R. Rahman Prize on their distinction last year of education. This prize has been funded by Prof. Sultana N. Nahar, from Ohio State University, annually since 2016 to motivate students doing their best in the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). The Sultana’s main goal is to increase the numbers of graduates with higher-quality education; in addition to fostering the teacher’s role of better teaching skills.

“Such award has been launched to sharpen the students’ capability in the field of education as well as the academics in scientific research to all help together reach sustainable development”, the Dean of Scientific research Dr. Mazen Hania noted out during the IUG honorary ceremony for promotion and prize holders.

Bachelor and Master students in Chemistry and Engineering are the first benefiters of S N. Sultana and A.R Rahman prize this year.

Jimana Aswalhi who was given the prize of the best graduate in Physics 2019 enthusiastically said that this prize evoked her by all shapes and meanings to keep going in the path of excellence thanks to Prof. Sultana N. Nahar. As she granted this prize, she dreamt of a bright future full of success and hardworking.

In the same context, the IUG ceremony had witnessed bestowing awards to best academics and professors who received fellowships from Foreign Universities, as well as, the winners of best scientific research at IUG.

“IUG attaches great importance to scientific research and it is the foundation block of universities’ rankings” clarified IUG President Prof. Nasser Farahat.
