Two from IUG to Pay Research Visits to American & European Universities

Tawon Foundation has revealed the results of the eight batch of Zamala university fellowship program for bolstering the university’s employees research and training visits to universities in America and Europe.

From the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Fadi Al-Nahal has received a scholarship to do a research visit to the University of Georgia Institute of Technology. The research subject relies on developing new technologies for future optical access networks (Internet).

Related to this research visit, Prof. Al-Nahal indicated that: due to the rapid growth of ICT over the past few decades, there is also a rapid increase in the internet speeds and bandwidth-demanding applications that in turn contribute to the widespread use of Optical fiber in access networks. The proposed research will focus on increasing the speed of operation, the split ratio- increasing the number of users- and the maximum cost-effective access to future Internet networks.

From the IUG Deanship of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies, Mr. Bilal Abu-Ras has received a training scholarship to visit the center of University of Warsaw Technology transfer Office. The aim of the training visit is to supplement the Islamic University with expertise related to the latest applications of technology transfer and the outputs of scientific research and its link with the industrial and commercial sectors.

Mr. Abu-Ras confirmed: the Islamic University has signed a treaty with the Ministry of National Economy and the International Organization for Intellectual property to establish a center for transferring technology at Islamic. Mr. Bilal visit will contribute to put the status of the University at the forefront of all Palestinian universities.
