Joint Scientific Meeting On “Woman, Conflict, and Building Peace”

In cooperation with Graz University, Woman Studies Centre of IUG Education Faculty carried out, via Skype, the first international scientific meeting, entitled “woman, conflict and building peace”.

The meeting studied the relation between the woman, gender and peace, highlighting the countries that suffered to reach peace and stop violence. Moreover, it clarified many aspects and concepts relating to the woman, gender and their problems; it analyzed violence from women’s point of view through discussing citizenship and woman as being a war victim.

Many professors from Graz University participated in the event including Prof. Brigitte Hollins in addition to IUG team consisting of Prof. Sanaa Abo Daqqa- the manager of Woman Project-, Prof. Eleyan Al-Holy- the Deputy Dean of Education Faculty-, Prof. khetam Al-Sahar- the manager of Woman Studies Centre. Also, a delegation from Ministry of Woman Affairs and Interior in addition to a number of faculty members from other universities.

This meeting is considered the first since there will be many upcoming ones with Graz University.
