IUG Academics Participate In Training Week At Tampere University

Included in a five-month training program, a host of IUG academics has participated in an intensive training week, which took place from 9-14 Sept. 2018, at Tampere University in Finland.

The IUG team consisted of Prof. Munawar Nejem, Prof. Mohammad Abu Oudh, and Prof. Majdi Akel in addition to Prof. Mohsen Efranji, an art faculty member, and Bassem Beshnaq, a faculty member of sharia and law.

The training week focused on enhancing the participants’ abilities to use the best ways of teaching at the university and improving their academic efficiency. This training offers study units for university teaching that are mainly given online under the supervision of specialized teachers from Tampere, some of which are also given through academics’ visit to Tampere University. The program includes 18 teachers, presenting all faculties; five teachers had the chance to travel, but others were just able to participate through the Adobe connect technique.

The training phase is considered a starting point of eTraining FinPal project. It aims at empowering the participants to train their colleagues and carry the experience to the Palestinian universities through launching an educational program specialized at university teaching skills.
