Series Of Lectures At University of Glasgow

Prof. Akram Habib, an academician from the faculty of Arts, intended to embark resolutely on a different journey. He took his decision to abandon seven days of IUG lectures from 7-14Nov.2017 to join the Erasmus+ Program for international mobility.

Though students missed for a week his unique momentum lectures, their consolation was that he would return to them packed with foreign experiences as well as superb techniques of teaching. The journey was chiefly for haunting universities’ cultures, exploring curricula, and transferring IUG experiences to other universities. As Erasmus+ boat sailed to Glasgow University, Prof. Akram has been hosted by the international relations at Glasgow then he had the   honormeet Mr. Stephen Shilton, the Career officer in Glasgow, and the head of the English .Department.  Dr. Helen Stoddard. His journey crowned with success when giving a series of lectures to MA and PhD., TESOL students.

The lectures comprised two important presentations, one entitled” Teaching in Gaza: Context and Challenges”, the other was directed to staff members and Postgraduate Students in Translation Studies; entitled” Politics, Poetics, and Translation”.

Such gorgeous trip is worthwhile enough to raise the university rank high to the top, for it paves the road for a better educational process based on cooperative teaching with international universities. Prof. Akram, on his Facebook, expressed his absolute happiness over participating in the mobility; he was glorious of being a representative of the Islamic University. “I was impressed by the alacrity of the audience and some of them asked me to give the same lecture to another group of students. I did receive much applause and encouragement. The students wanted to stay as much as possible”, Prof. Akram gratefully said
