The College of Nursing has participated in the first scientific conference of Mental Health which is organized by the Public Administration of Mental Health at the Ministry. On behalf of the Islamic University, Prof. Yousef Al- Jeish, Dean of Nursing faculty, and other experts, consultants, and specialists in this field have been attending the conference.
The conference discusses five pillars: the factual Mental Health of Palestinians, the psychological pressures, the programs, interferences and services, the treatment techniques & protocols of work, finally, the challenges have been facing Mental Health.
Prof. Yousef was the Chairman of the second session; he participated with a scientific paper first-ever in Palestine and the Middle East entitled of “Efficiency of Hospitalization& Integration program on Depression Patients in Gaza Strip”.
Conference outcomes:
1. Support and implement the scientific research in Mental Health field.
2. Implement hospitalization& integration model in hospitals.
3. Develop capacities and skills of personnel in dealing with hospitalization& integration model.
4. Implement the Cognitive and Behavioral Treatment for patients.
