The Palestinian Engineers ‘ assembly in Germany concluded the phase of applicants’ assessment and selection in “Transferring Experiences From Germany To Palestine, particularly Gaza Strip” project; it carried out by the assembly in partnership with the Islamic University & the Palestinian Engineers Union, and generously funded by the German Center for Integration and development CIM.
The assessment and selection process included several phases, most importantly are: giving English language examination to applicants, introducing biographies& samples of their work, finally holding technical and personal interviews to assess applicants’ professional and personal skills, this is in preparation for selecting (20) applicants, waiting to declare them in a workshop at IUG.
Eng. Ibrahim Abu Thoraya, Chairman of the Palestinian engineers ‘ assembly in Germany, stressed on the assembly eagerness to refine Palestinian engineers’ skills and experiences, as well as, contribute to creating sustainable employment opportunities through training & distance-work programs. He assured that this project comes as a prelude to a series of projects and programs designed to operate Alumni from computer Engineering and information technology disciplines.
Dr. Nazmi Al-Masri expressed the Islamic University readiness for cooperation and partnership with the Palestinian Engineers ‘Assembly to succeeding such projects that support youths, and create sustainable employment opportunities for them; most importantly, reduce the phenomenon of youth unemployment. He clarified that this is one of IUG essential strategic objectives
It is worth mentioning that “transferring experiences from Germany to Palestine” aims high at the first phase to train and employ (20) Alumni in four fields of technology: Design with UX technology, UI design, web programming and development, programming Smartphones applications in IOS. The project lasts six months, carried out by a specialized German company, and followed by operating trainees in different European companies.
