Arabic as a Global Language

Arabic as a Global Language

IUG Arabic Centre for teaching Arabic as a foreign language started its first sessions for teaching non-native speakers on 9/1/2017. The center teaches freely as a result of the promotional campaign which was announced in advance on Dec 17, 2016.

It is worth noting that the aim of this free campaign is to teach Arabic for non-native speakers from the whole world. The center has opened its doors for registration in this campaign since Dec 17, 2016 and continued until Jan. 06, 2017, to start studying on Jan. 09, 2017 to Mar. 09, 2017.

The enrolled numbers reached more than twenty students from different countries around the world, such as the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Philippines, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bangladesh and America. Nine students will be taught by direct instruction (face to face) and 14 students by distance learning (online).

Teachers and students have shown great commitment and effective presence. Dr. Nazmi, IUG Vice President for External Relations, has expressed great pleasure for this enthusiasm and activity from both the teachers and the students at the centre.

The centre includes a number of qualified teachers from Arabic and English majors who have been qualified and trained by experts from the University of Glasgow and Arabic for All Foundation from Saudi Arabia, which is interested in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.
