In collaboration with the University of Glasgow, UK, IUG Holds a Course in learning English for Academic Purposes

In collaboration with the British University of Glasgow, The Islamic University of Gaza held a training course entitled in collaboration with the British University of Glasgow entitled English for Academic Telecollaboration Study (EAST), The course was attended by graduates and senior students of several disciplines, mainly engineering, information technology, science, medicine, nursing and biotechnology. The course was divided into two groups, a group of 25 engineering, information technology, and science students, and a group of 25 participants from medicine, nursing and biotechnology students.

This course, the second of its kind, has gained funding from the British Council for its success during August of last year 2015, with the publication of three scientific articles. The ongoing course is expanding with the increase in the number of participants by adding new specializations namely medicine, nursing and biotechnology. This course has a larger impact than the previous one since it allows opportunities for participating students to receive scholarships and training courses at the University of Glasgow, depending on the discussion of the proposed projects between the Islamic University and the University of Glasgow, UK.

This course was developed with the participation of Dr. Nazmi El-Masri, IUG Vice President for External Relations, Dr. William Guariento and Ms. Anna Rolinska, Professors of University of Glasgow, and Mrs.  Maha Al-Najjar, from IUG Continuing Education and Community Service, supervise the implementation of the course.
