Mr. Mamadou Sow, Head of ICRC Sub-Delegation in Gaza congratulated IUG class of 2016 on their graduation and amazing achievement and extended his good wishes to the graduates’ families, friends, faculty, and all those who have helped them reach this exciting stage.

Mr. Sow confirmed that this is the time of graduates to use their legendary ingenuity and tenacity to face up head on the crucial challenges of the time to create and expand islands of opportunity for all of their people.
Mr. Sow added that “as tough as life is today, it is not an excuse for not succeeding. The most successful men we know or read about are not those who never fail. They are those who use their failures as lessons and the challenges of their conditions as inspirations to transform those very conditions.”

“University has taught you a lot of things. You have not only learnt specific topics, but you have also learnt to learn. You have leant to think critically. You have learned methods. You have learnt how to analyze difficult problems and come up with solutions” Mr. Sow told the 35th graduating class.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Aklouk, deputy chairman of IUG Board of Trustees and Prof. Adel Awadallah, IUG President, and senior university staff welcomed Mr. Mamadou Sow at the University.

This talk was delivered during the seventh day of the 35th Class Graduation Ceremonies of the Islamic University of Gaza. In these graduation ceremonies , more than 1,700 students are graduating ; more than 63,000 graduated from IUG since its establishment in 1978.
The Graduation Ceremonies of this class commenced on July 23rd, 2016 till August 1st, 2016 with the attendance of more than 1,500 of students’ families in an atmosphere of great happiness and delight.
