Mobaderoon Supports Startup Weekend Education

Keen on spreading the culture of entrepreneurship in Palestine, Mobaderoon “Entrepreneurs” Project supported the event held by Startup Weekend Education in Gaza. 130 people, chosen from the 970 entrepreneurs who submitted their applications, participated in the event.

Startup Weekend is an international activity for aspiring entrepreneurs where they learn the basics of starting startups and launching successful projects. Startup Weekend held more than 800 events in more than 100 countries around the world in 2014.
Mr. Yusof El- Hallaq, responsible for business development in Mobaderoon3, said that Mobaderoon Project seeks to support activities encouraging entrepreneurship. He added that Startup Weekend represents a unique opportunity for young people to enter the world of entrepreneurship. He noted that the ideas participating in the event were a good start for the new entrepreneurs, yet they lacked experience.
It is noteworthy to say that “Mobaderoon” is a project supporting young entrepreneurs in the Gaza Strip. It’s funded by the Islamic Development Bank and the Arab Monetary Fund for Social and Economic Development, and supervised by the Welfare Association. The project is implemented by the Deanship of Community Service and Continuous Education at the Islamic University of Gaza in partnership with the Palestinian Information & Communication Technology Association (PICTA).
