A Meeting on  GlobalSurgII Project at IUG

 

In Cooperation with SurgFoundation in Britain , IUG held a meeting to introduce the GlobalSurgII.  The project discusses Determination of the worldwide epidemiology of surgical site infection following gastrointestinal surgery “

Osaid Al-Sir- a 6th level student in the Faculty of Medicine, coordinator of the GlobalSurgII in Gazabriefed the audience on this project, as an international research project that   includes approximately 1,750 researchers from 93 countries across the world, including America, Britain, European , African and Asian countries and Arab.

 About 45 medical students and medical practitioners in five government hospitals in the Gaza Strip, in addition to the approximately 30 students and medical practitioner of 9 hospitals in the West Bank are joining the project.    

Al-Sir stressed on the  importance of research in terms of determining the local and global percentage of site infection  following gastrointestinal surgery, that will make a sense of responsibility to find ways to improve methods of treatment and follow-up on patients after operations according to the applicable international regulations.
