IUG Academic Staff member  Lecturing  at Harvard University

 

Dr. Wisam Al-Madhoun, an assistant professor at the Environment and Earth Sciences Department of the Faculty of Science at the Islamic University gave a lecture at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University titled: “Environmental challenges and socio-Economic conditions in Gaza: A livable place?

Dr. Al-Madhoun pointed to the results of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip in 2014 focusing on the sectors of infrastructure, water, solid waste and health.  He also discussed the results of the blockade imposed by the occupation on the overall aspects of living conditions for the residents of the Gaza Strip, especially on education and youth, as well as the severe high unemployment rates.

Dr. Madhoun emphasized the Palestinian people’s right to live freely, to lift the siege, and to create opportunities for the youth of Gaza.
