Business and Technology Incubator Announces Winners of “Seed Project”

 

Business and Technology Incubator at the Deanship of Community Service and Continuous Education at the Islamic University announced the winners of “Seed Project” for enabling entrepreneurial small startups in the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Adel Awadallah, President of the Islamic University, pointed out that “Seed Project” is an essential and unique project since it involves moving from the stage of knowledge gaining to the stage of thinking and taking actions. He also praised the participating projects for they focus on serving society through hard work, investigating natural and human resources, and overcoming the obstacles in the labor market.

Dr. Saeed Al Ghorrah, Dean of Community Service and Continuous Education, talked about the Islamic University’s work not only in the academic areas, but also in the development and service ones. This, as a result, triggers the latent energies within the entrepreneurs by providing the tools needed to reach their goals.


Dr. Basim Dodin, Director of Economic Empowerment Programme (DEEP), expressed his honor of the permanent partnership with the Islamic University which is keen on serving and improving society. He talked about the programmes implemented by the Economic Empowerment Programme in Education and Health sectors. He finally declared that there will be a second, more expansive and funded version of “Seed Project” in partnership with the Islamic University.

Raghda Al Susi, one of the winners, said that such projects bridge the gap between theory and practice and create new horizons for the entrepreneurs. She stated that the main goal of her participation in “Seed Project” is to receive financial and administrative support by specialist academics.

The ceremony was concluded by honoring all the 40 participating projects and announcing the 16 winners.
