The Middle East Desalination Research Center (MEDRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with IUG in the field of water and desalination research. The joint agreement came during a visit by MEDRC’s Director of Development and Cooperation Department Mrs. Twist to IUG during which she met with IUG President Prof. Adel Awadallah and other university senior staff.
Professor Awadallah informed Mrs. Twist of the scientific specialisations university offers in the areas of water and desalination such as a major in environmental engineering. He also pointed out that the scientific centres at the university support applied research in the field of water studies, all of which fall under the umbrella of environmental and rural studies Labs. Professor Awadallah stressed IUG’s concern with directing student toward serving the community, examining its problems, and offering solutions including the issue of water.
Mrs. Twist, who expressed her delight for signing the cooperation agreement with IUG, noted that the Middle East Desalination Research Center MEDRC encourages students to conduct qualitative and meaningful studies, and is interested in supporting relevant research.
