“I’m proud to be in the Islamic University, the university of development and steadfastness.” Dr. Tafeeda Al-Jerbawi, Director General of the Welfare Association said during her visit to the Islamic University. Dr. Al-Jerbawi noted that IUG is the university of steadfastness since starting with tents hosting a small number of students in 1978 , and within a few years it witnessed significant development and progress that made the IUG one of the most distinctive Palestinian universities.
Dr. Al- Jerbawi added that it is the university of development, and this can be seen in its graduates who proved its uniqueness in addition to its great contributions on the intellectual and educational levels.
Dr. Al- Jerbawi, who headed the Welfare Association’s delegation, appreciated the university’s work in training and taking care of the qualified students and graduates and that is clear in Mobaderoun “ Entrepreneurs”,a project conducted by the Islamic University, with its three versions representing a Palestinian model of permanent leadership.
Dr. Al- Jerbawi appreciated the invincible determination she witnessed through Irada project where many of the injured in the assaults on the Gaza Strip have been engaged in productive projects enhancing their positive contribution in the community, noting that , “We in the Welfare Association welcome wider future cooperation with the Islamic University.”
Chairman of IUG’s Board of Trustees Dr. Nasr Al-Din Muzaini received Dr. Al- Jerbawi and briefed the delegation on the university history and academic development adding that the university has wide ties with many institutions inside and outside Palestine.
Dr. Adel Awadallah, IUG President, expressed the university’s keen interest in supporting young people to participate in the creative projects. He praised the Association’s continuous efforts in supporting specific sectors in the Palestinian community, especially in developing higher education in Palestine.
Dr. Al- Jerbawi had a tour in the university museum, Irada Project and Mobaderoun Project 3 where she was briefed by the entrepreneurs on partnerships sponsored in the project.
Mobaderoun Project 3 provides administrative and technical support for the entrepreneurs and graduates who have creative and promising ideas to have their own commercial projects that can be part of the economic development process.
