The External Affairs at IUG held an introductory session on Tuesday to introduce the different academic exchange programs offered by UN’s Erasmus+ Program and US State Department’s scholarship projects. The main speakers included Mr. Hussam Ayesh, External Scholarships and Academic Exchange Coordinator at IUG; Dr. Ahed Na’im, IUG Medical School Graduate, Ms. Ghada Al Haddad, English Language Student at IUG, and interested students and faculty members.

Mr. Ayesh spoke about PEACE 2 program and explained the project’s different advantages and how local universities can apply; he also encouraged students to apply to such programs. Dr. Na’im talked about his experience at Santiago University in Spain, which was part of PEACE 2 program. Finally, Mr. Al Haddad talked about her experience at the University of Delaware in the US, which was part of Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI).
The Islamic University of Gaza frequently holds sessions to introduce students and faculty to different international scholarship and joint research programs. IUG is currently involved in 19 EU-funded programs, most notably in Horizon+ programs.
