Alser Exhibiting High Standard of Medical Knowledge at Oxford

IUG Faculty of Medicine’s fourth-year student, Osaid Alser,  has been highly praised by Oxford University professors for showing academic excellence and solid medical knowledge during his training at Oxford Medical School. Alser was chosen to participate in a course at the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at  Oxford University  from 20th July 2015, and had an allocated period extending until 28th August 2015.

He engaged with the clinical programme in Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, and “distinguished himself by exhibiting an exceptionally high standard of medical knowledge (compared with the Oxford final year students.” Professor  Tim Goodacre,  in charge of the Department of Plastic& Reconstructive Surgery, said.

Mr. Goodacre  added that Alser exerted his  effort to observe surgical procedures, outpatient clinics, and emergency care as much as possible, and was very different from many of our visitors who can become diverted by other interests whilst in Oxford.

Professor Saul Myerson, Chief of Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, confirmed that Alser was always punctual, eager to learn, and keen to interact during teaching sessions. Praising Alser for his academic excellence and aptitude, Professor Myerson added that Alser has  obtained a great deal from his presence at Oxford, and that he will  bring the best aspects of his learning back to Palestine
