Community Service and Continuing Education Deanship, at IUG, has finished an intensive 5-day training course , on ‘Using Art of Resistance in English language teaching’, especially on using cartoons, comic books, drama pedagogy and films and videos.
The workshops of the course introduced an interactive tips by experts, creative methods for teaching English, relevant to future English teachers in Gaza.
Mrs. Maria Grazia Imperiale, from the University of Glasgow, PhD candidate, was supervising the course and the workshops that were being organized. She said, in a letter to her Palestinian students, ” I am looking for brilliant future English teachers, interested in experimenting creative methods in language teaching, who believe in the power of Art of Resistance, and in the value of language education for Palestinians in Gaza. You don’t have to be an artist, but be willing to try some different teaching techniques and activities.
Adding that ” I hope this will be an interesting opportunity for exchanging knowledge, and build connections from Gaza to Glasgow.”
The CSCED appreciates such a great effort to help IUG students to be a creative teachers and researchers in the future, thanking Dr. Imperiale for her knowledge exchange and support for Palestinian students.
