Supported by Prince Claus Fund, Iwan Signs an Agreement for Urgent Consolidation

 

Supported by Prince Claus Fund for Culture and Development-Holland,  Iwan Center, at the Faculty of Engineering, at IUG, signed an agreement to Urgent Consolidation of Historical Buildings in Gaza after the latest aggression on Gaza Strip.

 Iwan center conducted a Technical report for needs assessment for the Cultural Heritage in the Gaza Strip, which is about 17 historical buildings, Artifacts, and museums. A plan was prepared to assess according to the needs of these factors.

According to the agreement, Iwan center will conduct the Consolidation to three historical mosques that were damaged. The project will be lasted to five months and will find local part time employment. The project will include Consolidation and rebuilt the demolished parts for Partial collapse, Filling of Cracks and Traditional Plastering.

The Prince Claus Fund supports artists, critical thinkers and cultural organisations in spaces where freedom of cultural expression is restricted by conflict, poverty, repression, marginalisation or taboos. Annually, the Fund grants eleven Prince Claus Awards to individuals and organisations for their outstanding achievements in the field of culture and development. The Fund also  provides first aid to cultural heritage damaged by man-made or natural disaster.
