Faculty of IT, at IUG, won the Islamic Development Bank award for Science and Technology to the Academic year 2013-2014.
The development of IT academic laboratories, and Extra – curricular activities such as academic conferences, the achievement of higher studies students which published in local and international academic journals, are all the accomplishment of wining IDM prize.
The Faculty of IT efforts include the scientific and technical contributions which achieved by the IT faculty staff, has a clear scientific footprint in several aspects.
The IDB Prizes for S&T consist of three (3) prizes awarded on the occasion of the Annual Meeting of the IDB Board of Governors. Each prize will consist of a cash award of one hundred thousand (100,000) US dollars, a trophy and a certificate mentioning the name of the winner and its accomplishments.
The Prizes are awarded only to institutions (not to individuals) in IDB member countries in
outstanding contribution to any of the following scientific disciplines: Engineering; Agriculture; Medicine; Biotechnology; Information Technology; Optronics; Material Sciences; Pharmaceutical; Industrial Microelectronics; Nanotechnology and alternative Energy Sources.
This prize will be added to the history of IT faculty achievement and scientific accomplishment. Islamic University provides many opportunities to upgrade the whole achievements of academic research.
IT faculty includes 500 students distributed in Bachelor and MA in several majors inside Palestine and other countries such as America, China, India, Britain, Malaysia and France.
It is worth to note that this is the third time for IUG to get this prize; the faculty of Engineering in 2009; and the faculty of science in 2006.
