In The Disabled Day: IUG Honored People with Special Needs

The Deanship of Student Affairs at IUG honored the people of special needs and injuries in the occasion of the World Disabled Day which comes on 3rd of December each year. The celebration was held at the central conference hall at IUG. His Excellency Mr. Ahmad Al Kourd- Minster of Labor and Social Affairs- attended the celebration with Dr. Sa’d Ashour- Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Arwa Ashour-Deputy Dean of Student Affairs-, Mr. Mazen al Nakhala- Director of Extracurricular Activities Unit in the Deanship- and some students from the university.


His Excellency Mr. Al Kourd appreciated the IUG efforts for taking care of people with special needs, for providing them with some needs that highlight their talents and for helping them to continue their studies. Mr. Al Kourd spoke about the duties done by the ministry for those people like: providing them with financial aids, providing them with education opportunities and providing the disabled with health insurance.


Besides that, Dr. Ashour explained the skills and the achievements of people with special needs that enhance their attendance in the Palestinian society. Also, he pointed to the characteristics of those people in society: patience, self-confidence and insistence on succeeding.


Mrs. Ashour thanked all the sponsors of the celebration and all of those companies and institutions that help those people. Finally, Mrs. Ashour insisted on the Deanship interesting on providing the special needs people with whatever they want to highlight their talents.
