The Female Student Council, at IUG, has organized its first English activity “Gaza…The True Image”. The activity took place at the big conferences hall, and was attended by Dr. Kamalain Sha’ath, IUG President, Dr. Nazmi Al-Masri-Assistant for Vice President for External Relations, a group of the English department professors, and a large number of the interested teachers and students.
Dr. Sha’ath expressed his high appreciation for the distinguished efforts of the female students’ council. Dr. Sha’ath regarded the activity in terms of success and uniqueness as it is the first activity to be held in English and being one of the most important steps for showing the true image of Gaza.
Dr. Al-Masri praised the efforts of the students’ council in joining the IUG with other foreign universities, stating that the number of the supporting universities is increasing day after a day. Dr. Al-Masri referred to the English Language as the main medium for communication beside to technology.
Isra Migdad- Head of the cultural and artistic committee of the council- confirmed that they are looking forward to reflecting the True image of Gaza, showing the suffering and hard situations of the Gazans, and enhancing the achievement of the Palestinian unity.
Nathee Stothee- one of Vittorio Arrigoni’s friends- thanked the IUG and the Student council for organizing such important activity. Mr. Stothee emphasized that they will continue their solidarity work despite of all the risks they face. Mr. Stothee ended his speech, quoting Arrigoni’s words “STAY HUMAN”.
