A press conference was held at the Islamic University of Gaza aside with the Palestinian Malaysian forum.
Dr. Kamalain K. Sha’ath- IUG President and Dr. Dzulkifli ABDUL RAZAK, President of International Association of Universities attended the press conference which held at the meeting university room at 13:30pm, June 24, 2013.
Dr. Abdul Razak confirmed that IUG is one of the successful universities in participating of developing the community despite the challenges that counter the people in Gaza.

Dr. Abdul Razak talked about International Association of Universities-IAU, which is established in the 1950’s by the UNESCO including 700 higher educational associations. IUG and University College of Applied Sciences are members of IAU.
Dr. Abdul Razak added that Gaza is great sample in overcoming the bad economic conditions; the people around the world should visit Gaza to get the experience of facing problems.
Also, Dr. Abdul Razak confirmed that Educational diversity has an important role in making universities and schools more useful and practical.
Dr. Abdul Razak confirmed that IUG has its clear role in getting the world morals and ethics more valued and applied inside the campus.
The higher education associations in Malaysia are very supportive and have strong relations with Gaza and the Palestinian people.
Dr. Sha’ath- talked about the university history and programs in addition to the university participation in developing the community. The IUG has several projects including Irada Project for the rehabilitation of Gaza War Injures in 2009 and the University Hospital, which is supported and donated by the Turkish government.

Dr. Sha’ath confirmed that there is a prolonged relation with the Malaysian higher education institutions and individuals and hoped to enlarge these relations to be worldwide around the globe.
