IUG Staff Member in the 12th European Conference on Trauma

Dr. Samir Quta, Head of Counseling Center in Faculty of Education, at IUG, participated in the Twelfth European Conference on Trauma and its psychological effects in the period between the second and the fifth of June, and the conference was held in Vianna.


Dr. Quta presented a research on the effects of trauma on the children of Palestine after the recent war in Gaza Strip, noting that the study sample consisted of 500 children. It was divided into two groups, one control and the other experimental.


Dr. Quta clarified that he was applying only some of the methods of behavioral on the control group to determine the effectiveness of such methods in the Palestinian society.


 Also, he pointed to the results of the study indicating that these methods have an effective impact in reducing the effects of post-trauma, suggesting the possibility of the use in the Palestinian context. In addition to that, Dr. Quta participated in other sessions of the conference included many methods of treatment used in the modern world.
