Dr. Kamalain Sha’ath – IUG President- announced that the IUG has achieved a unique place in the WORLD UNIVERSITIES RANKING-GreenMetric according to the concepts of sustainability. He declared that the IUG is the FIRST university and the SIXTY FIFTH university internationally and succeeding over many international universities that have academic and unique places in that field.
Dr. Sha’ath explained that the concepts of sustainability are advanced concepts take out most of the developed countries. He affirmed that the entry of the IUG in this distinctive ranking demonstrates its interest in these high standards. Besides that, Dr. Sha’th stressed that this success is considered as a measure for the IUG pioneering role in achieving the sustainability development in the Palestinian Community and its affective contributing in publishing these concepts in both levels locally and regionally.
Additionally, Dr.Fareed Al Qeeq- Dean of planning and development in the IUG- explained that applying the concepts of sustainability becomes one of the most important trends in both fields: architectural design and urban planning. Also, he added that this success indicates the IUG interest in applying these concepts and integrate them in various courses in architectural field.
Finally, Dr. Al Qeeq expressed his hope for the university to be a pioneering model in applying these concepts so that it can be a model for all institutions in our country.
