A delegation from International Labor Organization visited IUG to develop the project of civil engineering graduates, which was launched recently with funding of the Spanish government to support of the Millennium Development Goals.
The delegation included Mr. Abdul Hamid AL-kula’i- manager project of developing the skills in the regional office for Arab States, and was accompanied by Ms. Hanin Abu Nahla, and the engineer Rasheed Al-Rruze from the ILO Office in Gaza.
Dr. Fahid Rabah- Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education in the university, Dr. Alaalddin Al-jmasi – Vice Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education, Mr. Akram Juda-manager of projects and training in the deanship, the engineer Basil Kandil-Coordinator of projects and training, and the engineer Mona Gharbawi coordinator the project of developing the skills of graduates of the civil engineering department welcomed the delegation.
This meeting is a mutual cooperation between the IUG and the ILO, through the project of developing the skills of graduates of civil engineering, which was launched recently funded by the Spanish government to fund support of the millennium development goals.
On the other hand, Mr. Al-kula’i considered the idea of ??the project as a positive step towards developing the skills of female graduates which is related with the work in the field of building and construction.
Mr. Al-kula’i is proud of the efforts of the Palestinian universities and its care to provide services that contribute to make its students special at both the internal and external level. Also, Mr. Al-Kula’I assured the importance of developing educational and academic curriculum with the nature of the labor market and its needs, hoping to be joint cooperation between the IUG and the ILO to develop its curricula based on the approach to the developing of competencies, which relies on identifying the required competencies for each profession and developed through the curricula, whether it’s training professional or academic one.
At the end of the meeting, the delegation expressed their appreciation to the IUG and its performance in the service of students and graduates. Also, they promised to continue their cooperation with the University to serve larger groups of graduates and female graduates to develop their skills in the labor market professionally.
Moreover, the engineer Al-gherbawi talked about the idea of ?? the project, and proposal activities. She pointed to the contribution of the project in the integration of women in the construction sector, and enhances their role in the next reconstruction era.
