Many midwives around the world celebrate the ‘International Day of the Midwife’ on 5 May each year. Midwifery Department, at the Faculty of Nursing, at IUG, organized a Scientific Day about the midwifery entitled “Midwifery… Today and the Future” aiming at bringing awareness of the importance of midwives’ work to as many people as possible.
The International Day of the Midwife is an occasion for every individual midwife to think about the many others in the profession, to make new contacts within and outside midwifery, and to widen the knowledge of what midwives do for the world.
University officials confirmed on the university concern of such a program adding that midwives has an important role in the process of child and woman health care.
