Getting the first rank on the Arab and Palestinian universities
according to the green environment standards in the international
classification for the universities, Dr. Kamalain Sha’ath- IUG president has
declared that IUG outperformed many prestigious universities in different
countries displaying the university interest in these standards through the
theoretical level including the academic programs and the applied level
including design and planning IUG building.
In his turn, Dr Yhya El Saraj- Vice president for the administrative affairs
has confirmed that IUG interest in these advanced concepts for the green
environment indicates IUG leading role in the sustainable development for the
Palestinian people spreading these concepts on the regional and local levels.
Dr. Fared El Qeq- Dean of planning and development- clarified that
applying the sustainability and green environment has become one of the most
important trends in archectural design and urban planning. Dr. El Qeq has thanked
IUG employees for their prominent role in this success represented by the
engineering office, administrative affairs department, public relations and
campus services.
It is mentioned that the global trend
concerns about the sustainable and
green environment which focuses
on considering the local environment
and climate, the natural factors, saving water sources and the natural sources
for the upcoming generations, recycling the solid waste, reusing of wastewater
, increasing bio-diversity, rationalization
of energy consumption and benefiting from renewable energy sources.
