Projects and training department in the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education, at IUG, developed special educational curriculum for those with Down syndrome and autistic children, which is prepared for “right to life” association.
The development includes three educational programs for: kindergarten stage (Down syndrome); the stage of a special education school (category of Down syndrome), and the program of rehabilitation autistic children (educational curriculum development).
, which is part of a project to improve access for disabled people with Down syndrome and autistic children to educational services funded by co-operation Association.
The project will benefit three basic categories, which are: people with Down syndrome in the kindergarten program from the age of ten, and those with Down syndrome in special education school from age (11 to 15 years), and autistic children.
The development curriculum focuses on many developmental skills, and these skills are: motor, linguistic, social, cognitive, and independence, and education.
It should be noted the contributions of a team of specialists and consultants in the development of educational curriculum as aforesaid, namely: Dr. Fathiyah Al-lulu – Head of project team to develop the curriculum, Dr. Jamil Tahrawi, Dr. Fatima Subuh, Mr. Basil Al-Kudari and consultants to develop the curriculum.
