Postgraduate Studies and its Role in Serving Society Conference, at IUG
Postgraduate Studies, at IUG, organized the scientific conference Postgraduate Studies and its role in serving society, on Tuesday and will continue till Wednesday 19th-20th of April,2011, supported by World Assembly of Muslim Youth in Jeddah. The opening session was held at the central university Conferences Hall.
MP. Jamal N. Al-Khudari – Chairman of Board of Trustees, Prof. Mohammed M. Shabat – Vice IUG President for Academic Affairs, Prof.Ishaq Al-Farhan – Former Jordanian Minister of Education, President of Zarqa Private University, Dr. Ziyad Mekdad – Dean of Graduate Studies, Chairman of the Conference, Dr. Zakaria Lzimaili – Chairman of the Preparatory Committee, and Mr. Imad Khatib – World Assembly of Muslim Youth in Jeddah delegate, the Director of World Assembly of Muslim Youth Office in Gaza, members of university council, universities deans in the Gaza Strip and students attended at the first session of the conference.
MP Al-Khudari referred to the strategic projects sponsored by the university in order to upgrade the level of students to achieve high status and progress of society, confirming on the role of graduate studies in achieving the Renaissance of scientific and technological development through joining the development of information revolution, calling for widening the external relations with Arab and international universities to develop graduate programs at the university.
Prof. Shabat referred to the responsibility of the Postgraduate Studies Deanship role of having qualified researchers capable of solving problems facing Palestinian society.
Dr. Mekdad confirmed that postgraduate students are holding a big responsibility in serving the community, adding that World Assembly of Muslim Youth in Jeddah has great efforts in supporting research projects.
WAMY is interested to support such projects to enhance higher education and especially the postgraduate students and researchers to participate in fitting the community needs Mr. AlKhatib assured.
