Prof. Mohammed M. Shabat, Vice President IUG for Academic Affairs, Professor of Theoretical Physics, at Faculty of Science, the rank of “Outstanding professor”, becoming the first university distinguished professor to have this rank during his work.
According to the standards of excellent rank at IUG, the “Outstanding Professor” should serve a university teacher, at least ten years-five at IUG- and should have an excellent accomplishment of scientific research; in addition to having undergraduate and postgraduate projects supervision as well as having a distinguished history of serving his university and community.
It is worth to mention that Prof. Shabat published more than 190 papers in international journals in Optical Science, physics, mathematics and education and presented many papers at local and international conferences. His research interests include nonlinear optical sensor, opto-electronics, magneto static surface waves, numerical techniques, mesoscopic systems, energy, applied mathematics astrophysics and physics education.
In 2010 Prof. Shabat has got ISESCO Science Prize ; the Distinguished Scholar Award in 2007; ICO Galileo Galilei Award in 2006; The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Fellowship, Germany in 1998 Shoman Laureate in Physics in 1995
