Dr. Shafiq Jondia – Dean of Faculty of engineering has welcomed a delegation from the International Committee Of The Red Cross(ICRC). The delegation included Mrs. Anmary Macapiey- representative of economic security- Miss Roth Miozingy, Eng. Samah Abed Al-Rahman. The meeting which ,was held at the dean’s office ,was attended by Dr. Mohammed Hussein- Associate Dean for Research &Development, Dr. Ahmed Moheisen-director of IWAN centre, and the IWAN staff.
Dr. Jondia expressed his high appreciation for the efforts that ICRC holds in establishing stronger bonds of cooperation between the two institutions.
Dr. moheisen, in the same context, thanked the ICRC for funding the third phase of the project “developing the antiquities in the old town of Gaza”. Dr. moheisen clarified that this phase includes a partial restoration of 16 inhabited houses and a full restoration of Al-Saqa house.
The delegation went into a tour around the under-restoration hoses in the old town of Gaza. During the tour, Dr. Moheisen explained the importance of the project in preserving the Palestinian architectural heritage.
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
The faculty of engineering has celebrated activating the students section of the institute of electrical and electronic engineers (IEEE). The dean of the faculty- Dr. Shafiq Jondia stated that this step improves the serious interest of the faculty in participating at such cooperative unions.
Dr. Ammar Abu Hadrous-Head of electrical engineering department praised the distinguished activities that are done by the students section of the institute of electrical and electronic engineers. He, also, stressed the readiness of his department to strengthen the relation with the students through a dynamic interactive dynamic.
Dr. Kamal Ghoniem-Dean of students affairs talked about the high interest of his deanship in supporting such activities. Dr. Basil Hamad delivered a presentation on the students section of the institute and the different services it offers: training courses, scientific expeditions, and different specialized seminars.
Hussien Keshta- director of the IEEE students section discussed the procedures of joining the IEEE, and the benefits the students will gain through such participation: scientific journals, reduced fees of the training courses and the scientific conferences.
