Mr. Mo’taz Sa’ad, academic staff member, at Information Technology Faculty, has been awarded “Hisham Hijawi Prize for applied sciences in its 18th circle, entitled” The impact of morphological analysis tools on Arabic text classification”
Mr. Sa’ad has been awarded the prize with two Dr. Lo’ai Ferwan- the main researcher, and Dr. Osama El-Bataina, Dr. Mash-hor Bani Amer, and the two female engineers Shirin El-Hadad and Jomana Ma’toq from University of Science and Technology.
The research posed the problem of limited researches on Arabic text classifications. Thus, Mr. Saad contributed with Arabic language tools (morphological analysis tools) into the leading open source data mining and machine learning tools, WEKA and RaplidMiner.
Mr. Saad also collected the largest open source Arabic corpora (OSAC) for research purposes in the flied of Arabic linguistics.
