The Faculty of Medicine, at IUG, has, recently, held a work meeting with the British Royal College OF Pediatrics, in cooperation with the Community Development Institute of Community Service and Continuing Education, via the video conference.
Dr. Mufid Al Makhllaty, Faculty of Medicine Dean, Dr. Anwar Sheikh Khalil, Vice Dean for Clinical Sciences, Mr. Khalid kahlout, Community Development Institute Director, a number of consultant doctors who teach in the diploma of child health and nutrition for doctors: Dr. Said Salah ,Director of Al Rantisi Hospital for children, Dr. Samir Abu Draz – Medical Director of the European hospital, Dr. Nabil Al Brkoni – Director of Al Naser hospital for children, Dr. Thabet Almasri –Shifa’a Former Director of the Incubation center , Dr. Adnan al Wahidi – Medical Director of the Association of Humans Land, and Dr.Mohammed Abu Alsebah , Mental illness specialist. While the attendants of the Royal College of Pediatrics were: Dr. Tony Waterstone, Director of the British college of Pediatrics, professor Margaret lynch, consultant of children rights ,Dr. Azzedine quota – a consultant of intensive care for newborns and children, the director of overseas education , and Mr. lewis Abra?o, the college coordinator.
Some important issues were discussed in the meeting, like the agreement of British royal college of pediatrics to participate in training, examining, and evaluating the IUG students of pediatrics via the video conference or through sending some experts to Gaza; exchanging the students between both universities for optional periods; and teaching some courses in the diploma of child health and nutrition at the Islamic university.
The participants has recommended organizing a series of training courses for trainers of pediatrics teaching and other fields, conducting joint revision for the courses in the diploma of child health and nutrition at the Islamic university of Gaza and the diploma of pediatrics in the west bank, which is supervised by the royal college in order to develop the curricula in line with the common health problems.
