Faculty of Engineering, at IUG, organized a Study Day about the story of success to ISO 9001 in Gaza that was held at the conferences hall of Tiba building.
Dr. Farid Al-Qiq, Vice Dean of Engineering Faculty, Dr. Muhammed Abu Hieba, Manufacture Department Chief, faculty staff and a number of local institutions deputies, attended the first session.
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the world’s largest developer and publisher of International Standards.
ISO is a network of the national standards institutes of 163 countries, one member per country, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, that coordinates the system.
Dr. Al-Qiq confirms on the ISO importance to develop the academic programs as well as the faculty staff referring that ISO can be applied to any organization, large or small, whatever its product or service, in any sector of activity.
Dr. Abu Hieba talked about the day’s core points that discusses ISO and the possibility to apply it at the local institution adding that . ISO 9001 contains a generic set of requirements for implementing a quality management system and ISO 14001 for an environmental management system.
