” Organizing a medical conference in Gaza on health and diseases of children is a significant issue that PROVES the Palestinian DETERMINATION On transferring the latest scientific experiments to the doctors and nurses” Professor Recep Okdag , Turkish Health Minister, said in a recorded speech during the Faculty of Medicine Third International Conference.
This speech was delivered in the opening session of the Medicine Faculty Conference that was entitled ” Updates in Pediatrics” among hundreds of people attending the conference in the central conferences hall of IUG.
Dr. Basim Naim, Palestinian Health Minister, MP Jamal N. Al-Khodari, Board of Trustees Chairman, Dr. Kamalain Sha’ath, IUG President, Dr. Mufeed Al Mokhalalaty; Medicine Faculty Dean, Professor Terence Stevenson, Head of the British Royal College of Pediatrics, Dr. Jihad Hamad, Chairman of the Preparatory Committee of the Conference, Dr. Anwar Sheikh Khalil, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for clinical stage ,; the President of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, a large number of officials of the Ministry of Health, doctors , researchers, and representatives of the participating medical institutions attended the first session of the conference and also the Opening of the Medical Exhibition .
Professor Okdag confirmed that there are real cultural relations and deep bonds of friendship between Turkey and Palestine. He also stressed the Turkish Republic perspective towards the Palestinians in healing the wounds and reconstructing Gaza.
Professor Okdag promised to provide the Palestinian health ministry with a group of training services: medical rescue, FIRST AID, AND ADMINISTRATING Radiology centers.
Professor Okdag thanked the scientists who meet in this conference to consider the conditions of the children’s health in Gaza Strip. He wished that this conference would be a good way to :offer some new contributions concerning child health, remind the world of the Palestinian children, and dismantle the restrictions on food and medicine.
Professor Stevenson confirmed that Gazan children are the biggest victims of the massacres and the siege that targets the poor civilians adding that this conference has to do with the Palestinian children as represent half of the Palestinian people.
