A Libyan delegation visited IUG and met with MP Jamal Naji Al- Khodari, Chairman of Board of Trustees at IUG, Dr. Kamalain Sha’ath, IUG President, Dr. Ahmed Yousef, Undersecretary of the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Dr. Raed Salha, Director of Public Relations Office, at IUG.
The delegation was headed by Engineer Abd Arraaouf Al- Jzeyri who praised IUG and appreciated its good reputation and distinction.
It is worth mentioning that the delegation came among Al- Amal Ship which was oriented to Gaza Strip by virtue of Al- Qaddafi Global Development Charity with the aim of defeating the siege imposed on Gaza Strip.
MP Al- Khodari appreciated the great efforts done by Al- Qaddafi Global Development Charity and thanked Engineer Seif Al- Islam Al- Qaddafi for orienting Al- Amal Ship. Moreover, MP Al- Khodari Briefed the delegation about IUG and the effects of the war on people in Gaza Strip saying that a large number of students who study at IUG are not in a position to pay the study fees. In addition, MP Al- Khodari stated that 80% of Palestinians in Gaza Strip are poor adding that 65% of them are unemployed.
On his turn, Dr. Sha’ath considered that orienting Al- Amal Ship to Gaza Strip enhances the steadfastness of people in Gaza Strip and praised the efforts of the Libyan People in supporting people in Gaza Strip. Besides,
Dr. Sha’ath added that IUG represents firmness and steadfastness of the Palestinian People adding that in spite of the difficult circumstances and destroying IUG buildings and labs, IUG won many prizes this year. Furthermore, Dr. Sha’ath briefed the delegation about the establishment of IUG, its faculties, departments, students and the services it offers to the community.
