IUG Signs a Scholarships Agreement with the National Center for Scholastic and University Studies and the French Consulate in Jerusalem

IUG signed an agreement with the National Center for Scholastic and University Studies and the French Consulate in Jerusalem. The parties of the agreement were Dr. Kamalen Sha’ath, IUG President and Mr. Frederick Dezanyo, the General Consul of France in Jerusalem.

Prof. Mohammed Shabat, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Salem Helles, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Rifaat Rustom, Vice President for External Relations and IT, the Consul’s wife, Mr. Damyan Christovary, Vice Consul, Mr. Benoit Teddy, Counselor of cultural activity and collaboration, Mr. Majdi Shaqoura, Head of the consular office in Gaza and Mr. John Mathiew, Head of the French Cultural Center in Gaza attended signing the agreement.

The agreement aims at well running the administrative and financial matters for students who pursue their studies in France, the thing that is assigned to the National Center for Scholastic and University Studies.

According to the agreement, the National Center for Scholastic and University Studies is responsible for providing students with tickets, receiving them in Paris, supplying them with social insurance and facilitating their affairs such as helping them in finding residences, entering the university restaurants,… etc.

Moreover, the French Government is responsible for paying the study fees of students including the cost of a computer, books,… etc.

IUG has to send information of students who will join French universities the following year. Besides, IUG has to send to the National Center for Scholastic and University Studies information of the date of the students’ departure.

Dr. Sha’ath welcomed the delegation and congratulated them on the National Day of France saying that signing that agreement is a step towards improving the Palestinian- French relations.

On his turn, Mr. Dezanyo praised the good reputation of the IUG and the skillfulness of its staff adding that signing that agreement leads to improving the relations between Palestine and France.
