Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali, President of Islamic Development Bank Group stated that IUG deserves IDB prize for many reasons. One of them is that IUG is interested in scientific research, and distinguished by its academic level and staff despite of all obstacles and challenges.
Moreover, IUG is concerned with electronic learning and serving the community. Besides, the Faculty of Engineering included distinguished departments; one of them is the Environmental Engineering Department which has been established two years ago. The faculty succeeded in overcoming the lack of construction materials by recycling construction residues and using them in construction process. In addition, the faculty tended to develop low-cost housing projects as a solution for the lack of construction projects.
