Dr. Kamalain Sha’ath, IUG President received Mr. Edgar Motseesi, Secretary of the First Bureau of South Africa for PNA and Mr. Beshara Shahin, South African Representative Office.
Prof. Rifaat Rustom, Vice IUG President for External Relations and IT, Dr. Nazmi AL-Masri, Assistant of Vice President for External Relations, Dr. Hala Al-Khozondar, Coordinator of External Relations in the office of Vice President for External Relations and Dr. Raed Salha, Director of Public Relations attended the meeting with Mr. Motseesi and Mr. Khouri.
Mr. Motseesi appreciated the collaboration between South African universities and IUG saying that he hopes to give information about South Africa as this may enhance the collaboration with IUG. He said that the bureau is ready to give students information about Nelson Mandela and his efforts to build South Africa. He encouraged students’ interests warning that the siege might impede their ambitions.
Dr. Sha’ath welcomed the collaboration between IUG and the universities of South Africa. He talked about IUG saying that it is concerned with scientific research and serving the community. He stated that IUG has made use of IT technique in communicating with the external world saying that the siege has forbade academics of IUG form traveling abroad and participating in international conferences.
Prof. Rifaat Rustom declared that IUG motivates its academics and students to pursue their studies in the universities of South Africa. He welcomed widening the collaboration and academic exchange between IUG and South Africa universities.
Dr. Al-Masri highlighted the importance of providing information about South Africa hoping that the situation of borders shall be better to achieve the aims of collaboration between IUG and the universities of South Africa. He focused on the fact that IUG is concerned with foreign languages to enhance education and communication with others.
