“how beautiful it is as a building with all the quality of a college with high standards in the school of medicine” ” the university is an example of how people in Gaza progress well and do things which are good for themselves and probably great for their community” Dr. John Beavis, Consultant Trauma Surgeon and past Humanitarian Professor at Royal College Surgeon of England, said in his second visit to the Islamic University of Gaza.
Dr. Mufeed Al-Mukhalalti, Faculty of Medicine Dean, members of faculty staff, Mr. Husam Ayesh, vice Director of Public Relations Office, received a delegation from Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), headed by Dr. Fikr Shaltoot, Programmes Coordinator at Gaza Strip, and including, Dr. John Beavis, Consultant of Trauma Surgeon, Dr. Ruth Spencer, Consultant of Anesthetist, Dr. Debaah Harris, Consultant in Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine.
Dr. Al-Mukhalalti briefed the delegation about the Faculty of Medicine and its establishment at the time of a big need to such faculty adding that the students of the faculty is now at their clinical study at the European Hospital in the Gaza Strip, despite of all the challenges and difficulties in the area.
The delegation was highly amazed of the university qualified staff, students and system adding that we are very impressed of the way you are selecting students and overcoming the difficulties.
