A delegation from Executives of the Turkish Red Crescent, headed by chairman Tekin Kucukali, visited Islamic University of Gaza.
The delegation felt how much the Palestinians care about education , which does explain the high percentage of educated people in Gaza strip .
Mr. Kucukali confirmed that the siege real obstacle of executing Long-term projects , which oblige the relief institutions not to execute except the Temporary project , Reviewing the mission works after the war on Gaza strip , which show the main task of the Red Crescent in helping people who are suffering due to wars and disasters .
Mr. Kucukali summarized the projects that were directed by the Turkish Red Crescent after the recent war in Gaza Strip related to water, reconstruction ,and agriculture.
Dr. Kamalain Sha’ath, IUG President, Mr. Khalid Al-Hindi, Secretary of IUG Board of Trustees,Prof. Rifaat Rustom, Vice President for External Relations and Information Technology , Dr. Fahed Rabah, Community Service and Continuing Education Dean, Dr. Nazmi Al Masri, Assistant to Vice President for External Relations, received the delegation.
Dr. Sha’at praised Turkey’s role in serving the Palestinian people , and reviewed the aspects of cooperation between the university and many Turkish institutions concerning education affairs.
Dr. Shaath briefed the delegation about the services and offered programs by IUG , adding that the university is keen to offer its best services to the community talking about the university centers that offer unique services such as information technologies and business Incubator and the Center of Assistive Technology Center.
Dr. Sha’ath added that the university has a distinctive interest in the medical field ,such as Faculty of Medicine
Mr. Al-Hindi appreciates the great support and sympathy of the Turkey’s officials towards the Palestinian people in general and the Gaza Strip in particular adding that the university students are in a big need to be supported through a project of supporting the whole family after that.
The Red Crescent delegation had a tour in the university campus.
