In collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, External Relations Office at IUG has organized a seminar on European FP7 which is funded by European Union. The seminar took place in the smart room in IT building at IUG via video conference.
Dr. Hala Al-Khozondar, coordinator of external relations in the office of Vice President for External Relations and IT, Prof. Nasser Farahat, Dean of Post Studies, Dr. Abdulmajeed Nassar, Dean of Planning and Development and Dr. Essam Al-Bhessy, responsible for external relations in the Faculty of Commerce participated in the seminar. The seminar was headed by Prof. Sameer Afifi, one of staff members in the Faculty of Science, whose program is supported by European FP7. Participants from Palestinian National Contact Point for FP7 in Ramalla participated in the seminar.
Prof. Afifi talked about the general idea of his program which is supported by European FP7 saying that it is about the effects of climate change on water in the area of Mediterranean Sea. He declared that the issues related to the environment and climate change are important issues in Gaza Strip and the globe in general.
Dr. Fahoum Shalabi from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Ramalla gave information about European FP7 saying that all Palestinian researchers can benefit from it in applying their projects. He talked about the conditions of participating in the program, the major components of it and how to apply for it and submit proposals.
